Welcome to the site....We're The
Screamin Eagles
They're the guys you went to school with, the men you work with and the
blokes you drink
with down the pub.
Oh and they're also The Screamin Eagles, the hardest working rock band in
Leicester
The band from next door are making real headway in 2010 flying out of the
stocks with their
new release "Alive and Screamin".
Together for 3 years now, they've known each other forever and have spilt
blood, sweat and
beers all over the midlands playing to anyone and everyone they can. They're
sound is very
much hard rock but with a very modern sound, powerful riffs and strong
lyrics all brought
together in their incredible live show aswell as on their new EP! Explaining
their ethos
Vocalist/Lead Guitarist Sam Kilby, explains "you reap what you sow and we've
put the hours
in. We're working class and that gives us our work ethic, we play hard, we
work hard, we
don't give up".
You can hear that in their sound, with their colossal riffs and pounding
rhythms, songs of
heartache and lust, cowboys and renegades, working on their sound for 3
years now, you can
hear their influences,Deep Purple/Clutch/Motorhead/ in their music. But they
don't live and
breath their influences, they embrace them and expand on them perfecting
their "Heavy Blues"
sound.
The bands worklife is another influence, giving the band their hardworking
mentallity and
inspiring the song "Midnight Oil", their hearts have been broken too
recalled in "How Many
More Times" a catchy as hell riff thats bound to get you singing along.
From the sleazy “Solitaire” to the footstomping "Midnight Oil" to the
anthemic "How Many
More Times" The Screamin Eagles have created a "bustlin tornado of electric
fire"(Toxic
Pete)
Drummer Ray Strach reflects on the songwriting process for the EP, saying,
“It all starts
with the riff really, if the band all agrees then we follow it and see where
it goes, one
riff inspires another and we eventually end up with something we either keep
or hold back.
These songs come from personal experiences or personal experiences we'd like
to have ha ha.
We're our own biggest critic and we know if a song isnt cutting it. We know
how to make a
TSE song, we're always writing new material and these are the latest batch.
On the influx of live gigs and reappearances at venues
Guitarist/Keyboardist, Joe Smith "in
the last 6 months we've become a real force and we can compete with anyone,
we have the show
and we have the songs. A band really lives or dies by what it gives on
stage, you have to
make a connection through your performance and your songs, we do both".
Vocalist/guitarist,
Sam Kilby agrees, saying, “Starting out as a band 3 years ago, we didn't
know where this was
going to take us. We've had a laugh on the road and you can see how much fun
we have on
stage at one of our shows and that really comes out on this record. People
want escapism,
they want to come out to a show and be entertained and we do everything in
our power to make
that happen".
They're out on the road now, see them ASAP
